12. Number of Test Reading
 
    A minimum of six reading shall be taken as follows
      Close to the rated flow  
      Approx +10% of the rated flow
      Approx -10% of the rated flow
      Approx +20% of the rated flow or run-out flow, if known, whichever is higher
      Approx -50% of the rated flow
      Closed valve head
 
 

13. Measurement of Total Head

 

 

Pump Total Head = (Pd/w - Ps/w)+(V2d/2g – V2s/2g)+(Z2-Z1), where

  Pd= discharge pressure  
  Ps = suction pressure
  ((V2d/2g – V2s/2g)= Difference in velocity head between the pressure measuring points at the suction and discharge        
  Z2-Z1 = elevation head (correction for the difference in the centerlines of suction & delivery gauges)

 
14. Translation of Test Data
  Speed of rotation recorded for each test point usually differs from the specified speed of rotation. Affinity laws will be used for translating the test result into data based on the specified speed of rotation
